Reijo Kemppinen, Head of the London Office of the EU Commission, will address a public meeting in Canterbury on 28 February on the subject of "European Union achievements and challenges in the World". The meeting is organized jointly by the East Kent Branch of the European Movement and the Politics Department of the University of Kent.
It is one of forty consultations being held in the United Kingdom under the title "Speak Up Europe", aimed at putting those shaping European policies in Brussels more closely in touch with the views of the general public. After Kemppinen's introduction, comments from the floor will be taken and these will be forwarded to the European authorities.
The meeting will take place at 6.00pm on Wednesday 28 February at Darwin College (Lecture Room 3), University of Kent. All are welcome.
