The London Festival of Europe 2008: 6th - 16th March11.48.00am GMT Thu 6th Mar 2008 The London Festival of Europe is an annual series of public lectures, debates and art events opening up spaces for public discussion about the many European questions. The 2008 festival includes an event marking the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a summit on the future of feminism in Europe and a key-note debate on the status of democracy in Europe amongst its highlights. The Festival is organised by European Alternatives in partnership with the Federal Trust and several other partners. "Democracy in Europe at the 50th anniversary of the European Parliament" is the key-note public debate of the London Festival of Europe 2008 on Sunday, 9th March, 8pm, Old Theatre, London School of Economics, no charge One year before European Parliamentary Elections, and in the midst of the debate over the Lisbon Treaty, what is the status of democracy in Europe?
